Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a hunter mindset and a credible network in the German Banking or Insurance market. You translate Zühlke's capabilities in custom software, data, and AI into commercial value for FSI clients. This is not a standard account-management role, nor is it a sales role built around pre-qualified leads. Your focus is new-logo acquisition: identifying prospects, opening doors, shaping opportunities, and closing deals with new clients in your chosen segment. Once a client or project is won, you will typically transition the relationship to the client management team with a strong commercial handover, while Engagement Managers remain in the room with you from scoping onwards. Financial Services at Zühlke Germany is a small, committed team with strong references including a major global reinsurer and the sister company of one of the world's largest insurance groups. What matters to us You decide where you want to focus and how you want to spend your week. We expect you to be associated with one of our German offices. The more time you spend with potential clients, the better. Acquire new mid-to-large Banking or Insurance clients in your chosen segment, leading the full sales cycle from first contact to signed contract at target margin. Engage credibly with C-level executives and Heads of business lines across Banking or Insurance. Represent Zühlke in relevant German Financial Services and innovation networks, events, associations, and communities. Several years of new-business sales experience with a track record of closing complex deals in Banking or Insurance in Germany, and an active network of senior buyers in the segment you target. Strong commercial drive and the confidence to navigate senior stakeholders up to C-level. Experience selling custom services into complex technical environments, ideally involving software, data, AI, or technology consulting. Professional services background, ideally from a delivery-led firm. You know how to sell engineering-led work, not body leasing. Fluent business German, written and spoken, is essential for senior client conversations, negotiations, and relationship building; strong English is a plus for internal collaboration and international contexts.
