Sales Engineer – Routing & Switching
Remote / Germany | Travel: ~25–30%
A global tech innovator in network infrastructure is scaling its Routing & Switching business in Europe and is looking for a consultative, customer-facing Sales Engineer for their Service Provider Business.
In this strategic role, you’ll shape and present advanced IP and Carrier Ethernet solutions to Tier 1 service providers, cloud platforms, and key partners. You’ll influence product direction, support technical trials and RFPs, and help customers adopt next-gen architectures.
What you'll do:
* Drive advanced architectural discussions across Routing, Carrier Ethernet, Adaptive IP, Network Management, SDN/NFV/Cloud, and virtualization.
* Engage with product, R&D, and executive stakeholders to shape customer-centric features.
* Deliver hands-on support in labs, during evaluations, and across the sales cycle.
* Mentor teams and build technical fluency in architectural solutions, not just products.
What you bring:
* 7+ years in telecom/networking with deep expertise in IP/MPLS, BGP, OSPF, Carrier Ethernet.
* Expert level knowledge of multi-layer network architectures (IP, Ethernet, MPLS) and Core Routing/Switching technologies and protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, IGRP,G.8032, MPLS-TP, 802.1ag, etc) is required
* Strong understanding of telecoms / service provider customer environments.
* Experience supporting bids, trials, and influencing roadmap development.
* Strong communicator with strategic thinking and a collaborative mindset.
Fluency in English required; German or Polish a plus.
