Civil Works Supervisor – Industrial Construction (Germany)
We are seeking an experienced Civil Works Supervisor to join a large-scale industrial construction project in Germany. This role is hands-on and site-based, providing technical leadership and oversight for civil works contractors throughout the project execution phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the on-site technical reference for civil works contractors and their supervisors.
* Guide, coordinate, and monitor all civil works activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.
* Lead weekly meetings with contractors, produce minutes, and support project coordination reporting.
* Develop, update, and follow the detailed execution schedule in line with overall project timelines.
* Track progress, report delays, and propose solutions to technical or scheduling challenges.
* Supervise quality of works, ensuring non-conformities are documented and addressed with the site QA/QC team.
* Review and approve contractor execution methods, civil work procedures, and method statements in alignment with HSE and site management.
* Conduct site inspections, prepare handover documentation, and follow up on snagging lists.
* Support project reporting through weekly and monthly updates to site management.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to manage co-activity with other contractors and ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements
* Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Experience:
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction/erection supervision on large-scale industrial projects.
* At least 3–5 years in direct supervision of civil works execution.
* Experience in agro-industrial, biofuels, biomass, chemicals, or related heavy industry sectors preferred.
* Skills:
* Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
* Comfortable with IT tools (MS Office, reporting systems).
* Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
* Autonomous, rigorous, and proactive problem-solver.
* Languages: Native/Fluent German speaker with strong English skills.
* Other: LBO certification is an asset.
