Job Description
Grid Systems Integration (GSI) is a rapidly expanding business line within GE Vernova, focusing on substation integration projects, including high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems.
Position Overview: We are seeking a Region EHS Leader (m/f/d) responsible for leading and managing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in the GSI business line for the Central Europe region. The role involves overseeing service, maintenance, construction, and commissioning activities onsite, ensuring compliance with global GE Vernova EHS standards and local regulations. The successful candidate will lead the EPC scope and system delivery concerning all EHS aspects, collaborating with supply chain, factories, construction companies, and internal teams. Our major projects are located in Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. You will work with an international team of experts and external subcontractors.

Responsibilities:
* Implement and integrate EHS programs in the CE region, ensuring compliance with global standards and local regulations across all activities, including international customer sites.
* Lead and develop a team of 10 employees.
* Monitor compliance and support legal and internal requirement adherence.
* Support environmental protection initiatives and maintain ISO 14001/EMAS environmental management systems.
* Report to the Regional Operational Leader (Germany) and the Global EHS Business Line Leader (France).
* Provide EHS support for Business offerings (ITO) in collaboration with the Business ITO Leader.
* Develop strong relationships with operational and project teams to promote EHS performance and culture.
* Serve as the EHS contact at the site for technical advice and collaboration with management.
* Establish EHS routines, including accident reporting and reviews, ensuring documentation and reporting are completed accurately.
* Conduct training, site visits, and audits.
* Ensure timely and accurate internal and external EHS reporting.
Qualifications:
* Degree in safety engineering, environmental science, safety management, or similar, with safety specialist training.
* 10+ years of experience in EHS program development, implementation, and leadership, preferably in sectors like chemicals, power, refining, offshore, or similar industries.
* Knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
* HVDC safety experience is a plus.
* Proficiency in English and German.
* Willingness to travel up to 40%, mainly to project sites.
