Your new job includes
As Managing Director Retail Cruises (m/f/d), you hold overall strategic and operational responsibility for the sustainable revenue and profit development of our retail activities on cruise ships in the EMEA region. These activities are managed through Heinemann Cruise Liner GmbH & Co. KG and Cruise Liner Global GmbH. You are responsible for the targeted use of the Gebr. Heinemann service portfolio and for consistently developing the business – with the goal of expanding our market position and unlocking new potential.
In particular, you will
* act as Managing Director, take overall responsibility for steering key performance indicators and profitability for our two Cruise Retail companies in EMEA – including full accountability for P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and NWC, as well as preparing budgets and forecasts
* ensure continuous monitoring of contract compliance and adherence to SOPs, while guaranteeing compliance with all legal requirements – particularly in the areas of tax, customs, and regulatory compliance
* lead a team of 21 employees at headquarters, supported by three team leads. Your team, in turn, manages approximately 240 shop staff on board and enhances the guest shopping experience through targeted leadership
* develop and implement long-term strategies that sustainably drive growth and profitability for both companies
* optimize collaboration with internal interfaces and external partners with a focus on operational excellence
* identify and implement innovative technologies and systems, lead strategic projects, initiate business reviews and annual meetings, and oversee contract negotiations
* unlock new business opportunities, including initial contact with potential cruise lines, analysis of business cases, contract negotiations, and participation in trade fairs and industry association activities
Preferred Profile
* Completed degree in Business Administration (Diploma/Master) or a comparable qualification
* Several years of professional experience in sales, preferably in retail, within a globally operating company, as well as proven leadership experience
* You foster individual strengths, create a motivating work environment, and ensure clear goal orientation along with continuous development of your team members
* Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken, and a high willingness to travel
* Strong expertise in managing cross-functional projects and collaboration, combined with persuasive leadership skills and the ability to engage external stakeholders at all organizational levels
* Exceptional analytical and conceptual abilities, paired with an entrepreneurial mindset for identifying opportunities and driving innovation
* Highly developed execution skills, negotiation expertise, and a clear focus on achieving goals
