Engineering Chapter Lead (f/m/d)
The Engineering Chapter Lead (f/m/d) is a crucial leadership role, tasked with both people management and technical excellence.
You will lead a talented team of Software & DevSecOps Engineers and Solution Architects, guiding their professional growth while ensuring that they adhere to industry best practices and deliver efficient, scalable tech solutions. This role requires close collaboration with Product Owners, the Area Tech and Business Leads, Agile Masters and the Agile Coach to ensure that engineering and architecture practices align seamlessly with strategic business and technology objectives.
As the Chapter Lead, you will also focus on fostering a strong sense of community and knowledge sharing among Engineers and Architects, encouraging innovation and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for driving the adoption of standardized methodologies across the Chapter, ensuring consistency in the design, implementation, and maintenance of technology architectures. This position plays a vital role in shaping a compliant and efficient application landscape.
This position will be based preferably in our Frankfurt office, but applications from other locations are also welcome, i.e. Munich, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei.
What you will do
* People Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop a team of Engineers and Architects, fostering professional growth, performance, and engagement while ensuring readiness for evolving technical demands
* Technical Expertise & Squad Support: Provide functional expertise in engineering, guiding the development of scalable application architectures
* Standardization & Best Practices: Implement and enforce standardized methodologies, tools, and coding practices across the Chapter to ensure consistency and reliability
* Community Building & Knowledge Sharing: Build a collaborative Engineering & Architecture community, promoting continuous learning, best practices, and knowledge exchange through workshops and training
* Technical Excellence & Innovation: Drive technical excellence, encourage innovation, and stay current with emerging technologies to optimize tech solutions
* Collaboration & Alignment: Work with Tech/Business Leads, Agile Masters/Coaches, and Product Owners to align engineering strategies with broader organizational goals
* Quality Assurance & Efficiency: Ensure high-quality technology solutions through robust testing and optimization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency
What you bring
* Excellent university degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Economics or related field of study
* Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, SQL) and scripting
* Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering, including version control, CI/CD, information security, and performance optimization
* Excellent knowledge about technology-related asset management industry regulation and compliance (e.g. DORA)
* Strong ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a diverse team of Data Engineers, providing strategic direction and career development opportunities
* Ability to think strategically and make decisions that align with the organization’s goals
* Expertise in modern software engineering tools and practices, with a commitment to staying up to date with the latest technologies
* Creative and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical challenges
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations
* Ability to drive standardization and efficiency within the Chapter, ensuring all software engineering work adheres to high-quality standards, compliance and best practices
* Fluency in English both written and spoken, with additional languages considered an advantage
