We are looking for you, effective immediately, as Senior Manager Sales & Business Development - Automotive Substrates (m/f/d) for our location in Ratingen – become part of our team!
As Senior Manager Sales & Business Development - Automotive Substrates, you will be responsible for the entire, complex sales cycle of our substrate solutions for assigned automotive customers – from acquisition and technical consulting to the successful closing of high-volume contracts. In this role, you will act as the central technical and commercial interface, lead demanding negotiations, and leverage your market expertise to actively shape the sales strategy.
Your Scope:
* Strategic Sales & Customer Development: You are responsible for the entire sales cycle of our substrate solutions (e.g., DBC, AMB) in the automotive sector for your customers – from acquisition and technical qualification to the closing of high-quality, long-term contracts.
* Central Interface & Technical Consultant: As the primary contact person (Key Customer Interface), you act as the crucial technical and commercial bridge between our automotive customers and our internal teams (R&D, Production, Quality).
* Agile Project Management (Design-In): You proactively manage and coordinate the long-term design-in cycles of our products – from the initial sampling and testing phase to the successful Start of Production (SOP).
* Negotiation & Contract Management: You conduct complex price and contract negotiations with customers and their purchasing departments, using your commercial acumen to secure profitable agreements.
* Market & Competitor Analysis: You actively monitor the competitive situation in the substrate business, analyze market trends, and adjust the sales strategy accordingly.
* Technology Expertise: You provide detailed information about our product portfolio and our connection technologies (e.g., Sintering, Wire Bonding) and coordinate the handling of technical customer inquiries.
What you should bring to the table:
* Many Years of Industry Expertise: 5-10 years of professional experience in technical sales, Field Application Engineering, or business development, ideally in automotive electronics, power electronics, or the semiconductor industry.
* Strong Technical Know-How: Fundamental knowledge of power module substrates and associated bonding and assembly processes, as well as a basic understanding of electronic/semiconductor manufacturing processes ("hands-on" mentality desirable).
* Pronounced "Hunter Mentality" for building new customer leads.
* Negotiation Skills and Sales Success: Proven track record in revenue planning, forecasting, and target achievement, as well as strong negotiation skills in complex price and contract discussions.
* Market and Quality Understanding: A clear view of the competitive landscape and price structures (especially for automotive substrates), and desirable knowledge of automotive quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP).
* High Level of Independence and Willingness to Travel: A proactive, self-reliant way of working, combined with resilience and the readiness for frequent national and international travel.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Business-fluent German and English skills (both written and spoken) are mandatory; additional languages such as Japanese are a plus.
