Hauptaufgaben
Responsible for carrying out technical projects related to the repair, overhaul, modification, alignment, calibration and final inspection of electronic Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). Coordinates with experts both within and outside the organization. Coordinates critical mission tasks, technical reviews, modifications with TACOM/CECOM representatives. Coordinates assigned repair programs for combat equipment with other repair shops external service providers, sister repair activities and manufacturers (OEM). Check end item components for functionality of different equipment systems, i.e. hydraulic system, fire control system, electronic system, communication system, power platform, hull accessories and safety equipment. Supports trouble shooting and tests on all equipment components not limited to electronic devices and systems. Provides support and instructions for subordinates and members of related shop personnel for electronically controlled weapons systems. mounted in or on combat platforms. Diagnosis and repairs electronic equipment for tracked, wheeled and containerized military equipment in cooperation with related shop personnel and external service providers. Supports and manages the implementation of NETS (New Equipment Test Sets). Researches technical guidance and materials, and coordinates new equipment test systems with the Program Manager (PM) and other Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs). Determines and requests required resources, material, technical documentation and appropriate infrastructure. Prepares, distributes and implements process instructions and related policies. Develops training schedules for use and scheduled maintenance of new test equipment and special tools.
Manages the maintenance and repair of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), electronic control units, fire control components, laser rangefinders, target designators, and thermal imaging systems. Monitors detailed inspection, fault isolation, and system diagnostics using advanced test equipment and electronic technical manuals (ETMs). Evaluates completed work for compliance with policy, customer requirements and program objectives. Inspects and supervises functioning, diagnosis and traces interference and malfunctioning of equipment. Verifies, checks and inspects minor deficiencies on the spot, in case of major repairs, supports subordinates by disconnecting components, testing equipment by using instruments as multimeter, digital electronic multimeter, oscilloscope, frequence-meter, and various test sets or test stands such as timer set, fault tester, ballistic computer set, laser range finder test set, thermal system test sets, Direct Support Electrical System Test Set (DSESTS), Next Generation Automatic Test System (NGATS) and Bench Top Wiring Analyzer (BTWA) or Wiring Analyzer (DITMCO). Isolates malfunctions by prescribed system troubleshooting procedures, visual inspections, voltage checks and other tests. Accomplishes repairs and modifies systems. Assembles, installs, and repairs Night Vision Equipment and Thermal Weapon Sights. Inspects and troubleshoots fire control and weapons systems ensuring technical standards are met. Verifies proper function of subsystems such as power distribution, targeting, stabilization, sensor integration, and electronic controls. Prepares and provides cost estimates for labor and parts for reimbursable work. Prepares maintenance reports, technical summaries, and workload estimates. Informs management of program progress through informal briefings, reports and reviews. Maintains, searches and studies electronic literature and wide variety and complexity drawings and diagrams in the course of duties and furnishes information. Verifies and approves maintenance data and inspections/maintenance records prepared by electronic technicians. Signs maintenance and inspection forms in the supervisor field. Maintains status records. Certifies operational readiness.
This position serves as a first-line supervisor and technical authority over a team of skilled technicians responsible for the highly technical and specialized work such as maintenance, repair, and technical inspection of weapon systems and subsystems. Ensures all maintenance and repair operations meet prescribed technical and safety standards. Monitors and provides technical assistance to lower grade mechanics/technicians in use and operation of Direct Support Electrical System Test Set (DSESTS) and or New Generation Test Set (NGATS). Reviews completed work for soundness of judgment, technical feasibility, and conformance with established procedures. Develops, establishes and maintains training programs to support current and future systems. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of subordinate employees. Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques. Identifies development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained. Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work. Monitors and conduct On-the-Job Training (OJT) for personnel and temporary assigned external partners/personnel. Creates and develops training plans. Ensures availability of infrastructure and training aids. Monitors the training status of personnel and ensures that supplemental and or remedial training is accomplished. Participates in planning meetings and provides input on maintenance capabilities, production timelines, and resource allocation. Plans and schedules tasks and training activities for subordinates. Conducts Safety, Environmental Protection and Quality (ISO) meetings for all Electronic Technicians / Mechanics, and monitors compliance with all safety and Environmental Protection requirements. Creates and develops training plans. Ensures availability of infrastructure and training aids. Monitors the training status of personnel and ensures that supplemental and or remedial training is accomplished.
Performs other duties as assigned.

C-7:
E&T Levels I, II, III, IVA and IV D: Not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
E&T Level IV B and C: A Meister Diploma or Staatlich geprüfter Techniker in a trade or craft that is related to the position; PLUS 3 years of job related experience as defined below.
E&T Level V: Graduation from a University or equivalent, e.g. the Berufsakademie, or Technische Hochschule als Ingenieur der Elektrotechnik or in another related academic field; PLUS 2 years of job related experience as defined below.
Job Related Experience: Experience as a technician, instructor, inspector, or mechanic in electronics, electricity, engineering, communications, in occupations such as Fernmeldeanlagenelektroniker,Fernsehtechnik und elektronische Medien, Elektromaschinenbauer, Elektromechaniker, or in a similar occupation. The experience must show progression in theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory, function, operation, and capabilities of electronic equipment used in this position.
• Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B, CE and C1E.
• Office automation skills are required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency level B2 AND German Language Proficiency level B2 required.
