Intern (f/m/d) RF System Telecommunication Engineer
Your Tasks
1. The RF system (telemetry + flight termination) is broad and multidisciplinary, spanning the launch vehicle, ground systems, down-range ground systems, and satellite networks. You therefore need to be a high-performing generalist, who can work independently and autonomously as part of a small team.
2. Design and troubleshoot RF systems based on off-the-shelf components
3. Develop and maintain Python scripts used for analysis and test
4. Plan and implement qualification and acceptance testing of RF systems
5. Test RF systems in the field and/or via analysis and simulation
6. Integrate RF components onto the vehicle
7. Perform RF-related literature reviews and research
8. Become familiar with RF telemetry/flight termination system requirements outlined by the RCC, IRIG, and ECSS standards
9. Contribute to preparing and maintaining engineering documentation with a high standard of detail and accuracy
10. Collaborate with other teams across RFA (avionics, software, vehicle, systems, hardware-in-the-loop)
Your Qualifications
11. Bachelor or Master study in telecommunications/RF/microwave engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, or an equivalent qualification
12. Strong foundation in digital RF communications theory: modulation, forward error correction, software defined radios, and DSP
13. Strong foundation in electromagnetic principles, antenna theory/design, transmission line theory, link margin analysis, electronics/embedded systems, and RF simulation
14. Hands-on experience with programming languages including Python, C, C++, and MATLAB/Simulink
15. Hands-on experience with wireless communications/telemetry systems is desirable
16. Knowledge of common test and troubleshooting equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analysers, and signal generators]
17. Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English)
