This is a suitable opportunity for someone developing their practice in ceramics or art research, or perhaps a fine arts or architecture student, to get experience within an art studio, in exchange for a full access to a ceramic studio.
Tasks
You will provide support across a range of tasks, including:
Research - supporting visual and academic research for ongoing bodies of work, researching galleries and art residencies
Archiving - Digitally cataloguing artwork and preparing images for the artist's website; assisting with 3D scanning processes
Writing - Supporting project descriptions, and other textual materials.
Ceramic Production - Mixing glazes, supporting the glaze material research - developing and archiving test tiles.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is:
Organized, proactive, and collaborative.
A curious visual researcher with an interest in art, theory and writing.
Familiar with (or keen to learn) 3D scanning processes.
Passionate about contemporary art and sculpture.
Able to work independently and take initiative.
Benefits
This is a part-time role, requiring at least 10 hours or preferably 2 days per week of work (days and times are fully flexible). Work can be conducted remotely or in-studio, based on the task. A laptop will be provided.
In return, you will receive free access to the ceramic studio to develop your own work, including covering materials and firing costs. The studio is in Lichtenberg.
This is not a salaried position but a mutual exchange designed to support both artists.
