Strategic Procurement Manager – Central Role within Global Energy Group - Reutlingen
NOTE: Mandarin + English C1 Required (German is an advantage). Candidates must be based in Germany.
I’m supporting an international energy technology group that is expanding its central procurement organisation from its HQ in Reutlingen. The company works with some of the world’s most influential Asian suppliers and is in the process of building a stronger, more centralised purchasing structure at group level.
This role sits at the Group HQ in Reutlingen (hybrid, flexible working but you must be based locally or willing to relocate). We’re looking for someone who can help drive strategic initiatives across several countries, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and play a key role in shaping how the organisation manages major supplier relationships. The chosen person will also play a vital role in influencing local purchasing teams in different internal entities globally.
Why this role is interesting:
* You become part of a newly forming central procurement team with real strategic influence.
* Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership - high-value potential to learn a lot.
* The company is growing in the global energy sector and already well-established.
* You’ll work closely with counterparts across Europe and Asia, driving group-wide initiatives.
* Strong exposure: the supplier base includes major, high-value Asian suppliers where cultural fluency truly matters.
* A very international environment — English is the main language, German is helpful but not essential.
What we’re looking for:
* Fluency in Mandarin and English (both essential). Chinese cultural understanding is strongly preferred.
* Experience in strategic purchasing and supplier management. Industry background is flexible - it’s more about mindset, structure, and communication.
* Ability to build relationships, convey ideas clearly, and challenge stakeholders where needed.
* Someone driven, hands-on, and comfortable pushing central initiatives across multiple countries.
* Based in (or willing to relocate to) the Reutlingen area; hybrid working available.
If you’re interested in a strategic, international procurement role with broad exposure and strong development potential, feel free to reach out to me confidentially:
