Join us as Director Legal Procurement, on a permanent basis. You will provide legal support and expertise with regard to legal issues arising out of the business activity with suppliers and subcontractors and supervise and manage resources while promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics within Alstom.
Your future role
The position supports the business, the procurement community and the VP Legal Procurement in all legal matters, in particular:
Key accountabilities:
1. Good capacity of management of a team, with real leadership
2. Advise the company on all legal and contractual matters, including topics that relate to the business, Procurement activities, products or services, including: Review and prepare, draft and contracts or other legal documents with a level of risk that protects the company and in compliance with current legislation Provide accurate, relevant and timely advice Management of claims (including advice on the nature of the legal action to be taken), pre-litigation, resolution of arbitration disputes or other disputes; Advise management on risks associated withstrategic business issues and develop and implement strategies in close collaboration with stakeholders Escalate issues to appropriate levels of management Compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the business.
3. Communicate with and manage third-party bodies such as external counsel or auditors.
4. Management and mitigation of legal risks by implementing company policies and procedures.
5. Stay up-to-date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business, the procurement community and railway industry.
6. Lead special specific negotiation as requested by the VP legal IP & Legal Procurment.
7. Promote the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
8. Design and deliver legal training to the Procurement community.
9. Plan, supervise and manage resources.
Performance measurements:
Objectives, targets and performance measurements are defined on a yearly basis in line with the company’s financial targets, the General Counsel’s objectives for the Legal, Compliance and Contract Management Function.

Graduate Law degree in more than one jurisdiction (civil law and common law country) At least 15 years of relevant experience in an international business environment or law firm Familiar with international contracts Very good knowledge of the law and of contract law Procurement activities knowledge Previous exposure to international practice through studies or work experience Excellent English written and oral language skills Knowledgeable of intellectual property
Knowledge and expertise in the railway and/or infrastructure industries.
