Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Role Purpose Drive efficient and compliant export operations by preparing accurate shipping and customs documentation, optimizing transport costs, and ensuring timely deliveries. Act as a key liaison between global stakeholders, freight forwarders, and banks to support smooth international logistics across EMEA. Key Responsibilities Prepare shipping documents in SAP according to international shipping requirements Create customs documents in Expowin/Beo, including certificates of origin, forwarding orders, and export declarations Optimize transportation costs through tenders and comparison of freight forwarders’ conditions and services Communicate with global Customer Service (Intercompany), freight forwarders, chambers of commerce (IHK), banks, and internal planning departments Handle letters of credit and correspondence with involved banks across plants and throughout EMEA Post and verify freight costs Monitor open customer orders and ensure timely and inventory-related creation of deliveries Experiences/Education Successfully completed commercial training, e.g., as a Freight Forwarding and Logistics Services Clerk or Office Communication Clerk At least three years of professional experience in export and shipping logistics, ideally in an industrial company Proficient in SAP ECC 6.0 and excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Solid understanding of customs regulations, customs clearance, and Incoterms Experience in handling letters of credit and bank correspondence Initial practical experience in shipping is an advantage Strong team player, high level of commitment and reliability Friendly and confident demeanor, ability to work under pressure during peak periods Quick comprehension, analytical skills, and ability to set priorities in daily operations Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoke A job that shapes a life.
