As a NAPA Specialist you will contribute to ground-breaking projects from concept to delivery. You will play a vital role in shaping world-class vessels.
Tasks
As a NAPA specialist, you will explore ship theory topics in depth. From the earliest design stage through to final delivery, you will support complex and innovative projects.
Your responsibilities include:
* Performing intact and damage stability calculations and defining watertight subdivision.
* Preparing weight estimates and managing mass distribution.
* Designing and optimizing hull form.
* Conducting hydrodynamic analyses.
* Supervising model experiments.
* Handling stability-related matters.
* Taking part in negotiations with clients, suppliers, classification societies, and authorities.
* Acting in the role of Technical Project Manager.
At all times, you keep the overall ship system in focus. Close coordination with the master plan development team and other technical departments is part of your daily routine. You will also represent your area of expertise confidently in regular communication with classification societies, clients, and stakeholders.
Job requirements
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or a related field
* Solid experience with NAPA software, specifically in early-stage or basic design
* Strong understanding of hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, and structural basics
* Strong knowledge of both national and international maritime regulations.
* Previous experience in concept design of large passenger or commercial vessels is a strong advantage
* Proficiency with commonly used design and calculation software.
* Good command of English, both spoken and written, German min on A2
* Solution-focused mindset combined with proactive and clear communication.
