Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Infectious Disease Medical and Scientific Affairs group as Director, Medical Affairs (Germany).
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for participating in scientific meetings to engage with senior key opinion leaders, healthcare providers, and customers.
You will also demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in infectious disease, clinical microbiology, and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
Serving as a resource to the medical/scientific community including emergency and infectious disease clinicians, OB/GYNs, laboratory personnel, infection control, pharmacists, and researchers is another critical aspect of this role.
Developing and maintaining a working understanding of the global health environment relevant to diagnostic needs and establishing and maintaining a broad network of contacts within relevant stakeholder communities are also essential responsibilities.
Additionally, you will engage and collaborate with researchers on independent studies that will generate new evidence to drive new applications and expand the footprint of our products.
Working independently but receiving guidance for complex problems is a requirement of this position.
Gaining expertise in the best application of molecular diagnostics and maintaining knowledge in relevant scientific literature including clinical practice guidelines and emerging healthcare trends are also expected.
Identifying research gaps, supporting sponsored clinical trials, investigator-initiated research, advisory boards, and focus groups to assist marketing in requirements for the product pipeline is another important task.
Finally, communicating insights from the medical/scientific community about unmet clinical or diagnostic needs and providing scientific expertise on product design, development, and implementation are crucial aspects of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Medical degree with specialization in infectious diseases, microbiology, or infection prevention and control, along with 8 years of related work experience, is essential.
Strong scientific writing skills with a successful publication record and excellent communication skills with national/international speaking experience are also required.
Demonstrated success presenting medical/technical information in a concise manner to diverse scientific and clinical audiences, backed up with strong organizational and problem-solving skills as well as proven working expertise in a multicultural environment and matrix structure is necessary.
Fluency in German and excellent English communication and presentation skills are also required.
Ability to travel (60% regional and some international travel) is a requirement.
Previous experience in medical and scientific affairs, coordinating and managing diagnostics studies in infectious diseases in Germany, clinical trials management, biostatistics, and regulatory familiarity is a plus.
