Key Responsibilites
Strategic Planning & Analysis:
* Develop and execute the local financial strategy in line with the company's goals.
* Analyze financial trends, prepare forecasts, and provide insights to influence decision-making.
Budgeting & Reporting:
* Oversee the budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes.
* Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to local management
* Identify and manage financial risks, implementing appropriate controls and strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
Compliance & Regulation:
* Ensure compliance with German financial regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
* Liaise with external auditors and regulators, managing audits and inspections as required.
Manage local finance processes:
* Ensure quality and delivery of local finance processes
* Work closely with key service providers, to ensure alignment of service requirements and high quality delivery
* Collaborate with product teams to optimize financial performance and support the development of innovative claims products.
Local market analysis:
* Maintain an understanding of the local insurance market and industry trends.
* Provide strategic financial recommendations based on local market insights.
Key Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA would be a plus.
* Minimum of 6 years of progressive financial experience, leadership experience and experience in the insurance industry is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of IFRS and HGB accounting standards and regulations.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
* Proficiency in using financial software and tools.
