The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg is looking to appoint an outstanding individual to a W3-Professorship in „Business Administration, especially Logistics and Operations Research“ within the Faculty of Law, Economics and Business, School of Economics and Business. The position will commence preferably by 01. October. We are looking for a person who has a proven track record in the fields of logistics management and operations research through publications in high-ranking international journals and has demonstrable potential for further high-ranking publications in this or related fields. The applicant should have a proven track record in quantitative modeling and solving business decision problems and their application in the fields of logistics and supply chain management. It is expected that the applicant's own research focus has links to the university's profile areas “Sustainability, Transformation and Knowledge Cultures and Education” and supports the faculty's research, education and social commitment in the areas of “Sustainability, Digitalization and Governance”. Active participation in existing and planned research projects in the field or the development of new interdisciplinary initiatives is expected. Candidates should have experience with the acquisition of research grants and the execution of funded projects. The successful candidate will offer courses in the basic areas of business administration and business informatics as well as in the specialized area of logistics in the business and economics study programs on bachelor- and master level. In the Master's degree course in Business Administration, the professorship contributes to the specialization “Operations Management”. Experience in teaching in English is an important requirement; non-German speaking applicants are expected to being able to teach in German after two years. Additionally, active participation in academic self-management is required as well as initiatives for raising research funding. Duties and responsibilities are stipulated in section 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. Applicants need to fulfill the pre-conditions of appointment as stipulated in section 35 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. Particular emphasis is placed on a Habilitation in the relevant field, or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition. Candidates are expected to have attained the appropriate level of experience or qualification in teaching.
