Description At Hapag-Lloyd, our Inland Operations & Transport Visibility Cluster is leading a strategic initiative to build a next-generation Transport Management System (TMS) - a core component of our ambition to become the best inland services carrier by 2030. We are midway through the development of our new TMS and are seeking a Software Development & Integration Engineer (m/f/d) to take a key technical role in ensuring seamless integration and robust system architecture. This position is pivotal to the successful delivery of the new system and involves close collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and other technology partners. Responsibilities Design and develop critical components of the new TMS in line with our enterprise architecture and functional requirements Serve as the technical liaison for two external vendors, advocating for Hapag-Lloyd’s business and technical priorities in discussions about FIS and TMS system integration Lead and coordinate integration activities, including technical design, development, testing, and go-live support Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, and IT Architects from both internal and external teams Drive implementation of domain-driven design (DDD) and clean architecture principles across our system landscape Ensure all solutions comply with security, legal, and regulatory standards in alignment with our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Apply test-driven development (TDD) practices to enhance code quality and system reliability Investigate and resolve technical issues during integration, deployment, and maintenance phases Champion continuous improvement of development processes, coding standards, and system integration strategies Qualifications 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on system integration in complex enterprise environments Proven experience with Java EE and object-oriented programming Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields (or equivalent experience) Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs (REST/SOAP), and middleware solutions Experience with IBM Integration technologies, particularly: IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) or IBM Integration Bus (IIB) IBM MQ (Message Queueing) IBM API Connect Integration with legacy systems and third-party platforms using IBM middleware Monitoring and debugging integrations within IBM tools (DataPower, MQ Explorer, etc.) Familiarity with modern integration strategies (microservices, event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging) Comfortable working in agile development environments with cross-functional teams High level of self-organization and accountability Strong communication skills in spoken and written English Willingness to work onsite at our Hamburg office 3 days per week (hybrid work policy applies)
