Senior Accountant – Germany, Belgium & FranceFlexible / Hybrid / Remote within Europe, preference in GermanyOverviewThe Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations across Germany, Belgium, and France for a private equity–backed organization. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and local statutory compliance. The position requires hands-on accounting expertise, is comfortable working in a changing environment, and has fluency in German and English.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial ReportingManage and oversee all general ledger accounting activities for Germany, Belgium, and FranceEnsure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closingsPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAPCoordinate intercompany accounting and reconciliations across entitiesMonthly reporting packages, and ad hoc financial analysesStakeholder ReportingPartner closely with corporate finance, external tax advisorsSupport reporting requirements, audits, and information requests from colleagues across the organizationContribute to acquisition integrations as appropriate, and process harmonizationCompliance & Statutory RequirementsEnsure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Germany, Belgium, and FranceOversee VAT, payroll accounting, and statutory filings in coordination with external advisorsServe as primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and local authoritiesMaintain strong internal controls aligned with private equity and group standardsProcess ImprovementDrive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and controlsSupport ERP and system enhancements or implementations as neededQualifications & ExperienceRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multinational operationsExperience of working with other European local jurisdictions, specifically Germany, while reporting to a US parent-companyFluent in German and English (written and spoken)Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)PreferredExperience covering Germany, Belgium, and/or FranceExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite)Strong Excel skillsCompetenciesStrong technical accounting and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate in a fast-paced, PE-driven environmentHigh attention to detail with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindsetExcellent communication skills across cultures and functionsProven ability to lead people and manage multiple prioritiesContactPlease send your application to .
