Your contributions will significantly impact the development of our cutting-edge science and technology. You will bring solid expertise to collaborate with multidisciplinary external teams e. g. with the Experimental Group at Marvel Fusion. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in developing mechanical systems within a multidisciplinary and multinational team. Your responsibilities Design, test and commission mechanical and mechatronics systems for our experimental campaigns Support our experiments on spot at national and international high power laser facilities Work on projects both independently and in teams, using professional engineering concepts to develop practical and creative solutions to complex engineering problems Create and maintain engineering documentation Contribute with your experience to the overall experimental campaigns Interact with external partners and team members Interact and collaborate with our scientists to design experimental equipment and setups 3D-design for manufacturing of custom radiation diagnostics instruments, optical setups, vacuum equipment Assemble, test, install and commission electro-mechanical components for the experiments Maintain a digital twin of the experimental setups Create and maintain the relevant engineering documentation Support the science team in the preparation phase and during experimental campaigns What you bring A degree in engineering, e.g., mechanical, aerospace, optical, nuclear, or related Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, commissioning in scientific facilities or in the aerospace, nuclear, laser, optics industry or similar Experience in applying EN 1090 or similar codes and standards Experience with INVENTOR / VAULT or similar CAD / PDM system Fluent in English Excellent communication skills and a structured working style A healthy amount of flexibility, adaptability and can-do attitude Willingness to travel and spend time at international laser laboratories What sets you apart Experience with quality management e.g. according to ISO 10007 or similar Experience with optical simulations e.g. ANSYS Zemax OpticStudio is a plus Fluent in German is a plus, but not mandatory What we offer An opportunity to make a huge impact on the future of our planet by making clean, safe and abundant energy possible Flexible working, location- and hours-wise A human-centered company culture with super nice and supportive colleagues A great sense of community through team events and fun in and outside the office A modern office with a lot of collaborative space close to Theresienwiese in Munich Highly competitive compensation and benefits package For more information on how we process your application data, please review our privacy notice .
