To strengthen our Finance department at our headquarters in Travemünde, we are seeking a:
Head of Accounting (m/f/d)
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Head of Accounting to lead our international accounting operations. This role includes full responsibility for the accounting teams in Germany, Poland, and Sweden, ensuring consistent standards and compliance across all entities. You will oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and process optimization, while fostering collaboration and efficiency across borders.
* Lead and manage the accounting departments in Germany, Poland, and Sweden.
* Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with HGB.
* Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.
* Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
* Drive harmonization and process improvements across international teams.
* Manage and optimize the use of Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) as the core accounting system.
* Support budgeting and forecasting in close collaboration with Controlling.
* Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a multicultural accounting team.
Qualifications include:
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Proven leadership experience in accounting, ideally in an international environment.
* Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB).
* Hands-on experience with accounting systems.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills across cultures and locations.
* Fluency in German and English; Polish or Swedish language skills are advantageous.
