MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Virtualization Engineer supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa on our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services II (EMITS II) program in Wiesbaden, Germany.
* Configure, manage and maintain the physical and virtual infrastructures
* Implement and maintain DISA STIGs
* Design, document, test and implement virtual services and devices
* Demonstrate advanced analytical skills by identifying the root cause of complex issues to maintain maximum service availability
* Assess and evaluate current virtual computing infrastructure, and provide recommendations for enhancements
* Install, configure, and integrate servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.
* Performing backups, troubleshooting and problem resolution for servers associated with a VMware virtual infrastructure.
* Build highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.
* Build and configuring virtual networks.
* Create and maintain VM templates used for rapid deployment of virtual machines.
* Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
* Create and defend system change requests
* Develop, maintain and implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions
* Detects, identify and perform complex problem isolation and resolution throughout the virtual architecture
* Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages
* Maintain virtual desktop infrastructure
* Support yearly disaster recovery exercises
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:
* Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
* Experience: 10+ years of experience as a systems administrator
* Technical skills: Administration of VMware vCloud Foundation deployments; Administration of VMware Horizon VDI deployments; Administration of VMware NSX deployments
* Security clearance level: An active SECRET DoD clearance
* US citizenship required
* Role requirements: Must possess am IAT level II Compliant certification (i.e. Security+ CE, CASP, etc); VCP-DCV/NV 2021 (or higher)
German TESA requirements:
* A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
* An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
* A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
* 11 years of recent specialized experience.
