AbbVie’s Finance Development Program (FDP) consists of four rotations over two years to prepare you for financial management roles. The roles are crafted to help you develop exceptional functional and leadership traits by working on a wide range of projects, while providing exposure to different leaders in the company. This will develop you and put you on the fast track to future finance leadership opportunities at AbbVie.
During the first year, you will support both Operations Controlling in Ludwigshafen and Commercial Affiliate FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) in Wiesbaden. In the second year, you will have the chance to explore two further functional areas within Europe, whereof one of them will be in our Finance Shared Service Center in Krakow, Poland. Based on business needs, the fourth rotation can be carried out in area functions such as Commercial Affiliate, Treasury, Regional Headquarter or Area Corporate Financial Planning in one of our European locations.
Additionally, each FDP trainee is assigned a senior leader mentor as an advocate and coach throughout your time in the development program.
During the 2 years program, you will also participate in several international meetings virtually or in Europe (European Finance Director meeting, Alumni FDP meeting, Steering committee, coffee chat with senior leaders in Europe and in US, etc).
At the end of the 4th rotation, you will travel for 2 weeks in Chicago area at AbbVie Headquarters to have an additional experience in one of our global function and to network with senior leadership and our global functions.
You can expect to complete four separate professional work assignments within roles such as
Financial Accounting & Analysis
Manufacturing Operations/Cost Accounting
Treasury

Preferred Master's degree in Finance or Accounting with relevant Bachelors or Bachelors in Finance or Accounting, as well as strong academic performance in accounting coursework
Minimum of one internship in finance and accounting
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and project management skills, e.g., leadership in school or student organization
Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Data Analytics
Mobile post-program
Fluent in English (required), fluent in German (preferred), and proficiency in other languages is beneficial
