We provide advice in relation to all types of competition matters, including mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance, cartels, market investigations, intellectual property, and state aid. We have played a key role in many cases that have shaped European competition policy in recent years: from aerospace to software, and manufacturing to transportation. More recently, we have been at the forefront of economic thinking in antitrust investigations and regulation in the tech sector.We seek candidates for our Dusseldorf and Munich, Germany locations.Position OverviewThe Consulting Associate position is the entry-level position for applicants with a Master of Economics and limited work experience. Consulting Associates work closely with senior consultants, scholars and industry experts on project teams, and will have the opportunity to immediately work on some of the largest, high-profile and most significant competition cases in Europe, providing conceptual and practical input to projects. A Consulting Associate would typically:Conduct analyses and collect evidence from data and research that support our expert opinions and business recommendationsPerform regression analyses in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, Python, R), including large data projects requiring the use of cloud computingBuild economic models tailored to the issues at hand and supporting our expert opinions and business recommendationsAssist in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papersInteract with clients and communicate complicated economic concepts and arguments to non-experts in an understandable, accessible mannerEnsure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinionsParticipate in practice-building activities (training, recruiting, publication, expertise sharing, etc.)Desired QualificationsMaster of Economics from a well-regarded institution, with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialisation in industrial economics and/or econometricsFluency in English, other language skills are considered an assetAt least 6 months of relevant work experience, within economic consulting or with a competition authorityHigh degree of numeracy, ability to analyse data, familiarity with econometric techniquesExceptional written and oral communication skillsStrong teamwork and collaboration capabilitiesExcellent time management and task prioritization skillsClear and demonstrated interest in economic consulting through coursework, work experience, or activitiesTo ApplyTo be considered for this position, please submit the following:Curriculum Vitae– please include current contact informationCover letter– please describe your interest in CRA's European Competition practice and state when you would be availableAcademic results– from all relevant degreesWriting sample (optional)– a sole-authored project (class paper, thesis, research paper, or similar)Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
