Field of activity
The Server Management division is responsible for server-related services within the DRV Joint Computing Center. We collect and plan the requirements of the German Pension Insurance institutions and provide operating systems and virtualization solutions for our customers on various geo-redundant and standardized platforms. To this end, we specialize in providing and operating VMware, Red Hat Open Shift, Oracle Linux KVM and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows Server on the operating system side for our customers in the virtualization environment. We are also a service provider for the central automation tool Automic.
Your tasks
 * Planning, conceptualizing and administering the central product suite "Automic Automation" for workload automation for IT services across different platforms, applications and operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server)
 * Further development, user support and implementation of new product features, patch management and administration of the associated product environment (including management server, proxy technology and agents)
 * Provision and configuration of required web servers
 * Contributing to the creation of standards and guidelines for DRV Bund-IT
 * Monitoring and controlling the central application, problem analysis and troubleshooting with a high degree of difficulty
 * Implementing and monitoring IT security and IT quality assurance measures
There is a need to participate in on-call duties at weekends and on public holidays.
The position requires the willingness to occasionally travel between Berlin and Würzburg.
Your profile
 * Successfully completed higher education (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in the IT field or comparable qualification (e.g. IT-specific qualification) or completed vocational training in the IT field or comparable several years of practical experience in the IT field
 * Several years of task-relevant professional experience in IT with regard to transition and administration in the following areas: entire Automic Automation infrastructure, Oracle database, operating system (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server 2019 and higher), web server technology, control and coordination for training/continuing education in the product environment and all tasks in the specialist team, troubleshooting, if necessary with the involvement of manufacturer support, implementation of recovery scenarios and patch management for all product components
 * Programming system-related tools: with Power Shell 4 and higher, Unix shell, SQL script, Automic scripting language with a medium level of difficulty
 * Ideally knowledge of Automic proxy technology
 * Experience in the implementation of the product-specific authorization concept and experience as a user of the automation tool is an advantage
 * Business fluent German language skills
 * In addition to a high level of professional competence, your profile is rounded off by strong communication skills, customer orientation, strong teamwork skills and a sense of responsibility
