Introduction to the job
In our high-tech small production runs, single part and prototype production, you will support us in the high-precision manufacture of optical components, assemblies and systems made of glass, glass ceramics and ceramics.
Role and responsibilities
As a Process Engineer for Coating, you play a key role in ensuring stable, efficient, and future‑ready manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities include:
1. Process ownership: Independently manage assigned coating/bonding processes; take over additional processes with support from senior engineers or line management.
2. Monitoring & optimization: Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods (e.g. SPC) to drive continuous improvement in yield, cost, and cycle time.
3. Implement improvements: Execute simple optimizations independently and support more complex process changes in line with TGP.
4. Availability & maintenance: Ensure process availability and define maintenance plans (excluding operational maintenance activities).
5. Documentation & training: Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (AAWs, REZs, work instructions) and train production teams as a certified trainer.
6. NPI & technologies: Adapt existing processes, take over new bonding technologies, and contribute to NPI, PCCSIMs, and ramp‑up projects.
7. Risk, decisions & collaboration: Participate in FMEAs and ECRs, support equipment procurement, and collaborate closely across production, engineering, D&E, and R&T.
Education and experience
8. You hold a degree in a scientificortechnicalfield.
9. You bring relevant professional experience in production and technicalenvironments, enablingyou to independently manage processes and support ramp‑up activities.
10. Youhave experience working withprecision / finemechanicalsystems (finemechanics).
11. Youhave experience working withvacuumtechnology in an industrialormanufacturingenvironment.
12. Youhave experience working with gas safetysystems, including safe handling and process‑relevant safetyconcepts.
13. Youareexperienced in analyzing large, heterogeneous data sets and in the statisticalevaluation and preparation of data.
14. Youhavepractical experience applying Six Sigma, SPC, PDCA, and continuousimprovementmethodologies.
15. Youhave experience creatingmanufacturingdocumentation and decision proposals to clearly define standards and processes.
16. You bring hands‑on experience in equipmentprocurementoroptimization projects and in preparing requirementspecifications.
17. Youarefamiliarwithescalationmanagement and riskanalyses (e.g. FMEA) to ensure process stability.

An unserem Standort in Berlin fertigen unsere Mitarbeitendenden Schlüsselkomponenten für die ASML Lithografiesysteme. Als Teil unserer Präzisionsfertigung unterstützt du bei der Produktion optischer Komponenten, Baugruppen sowie Systeme aus Glas, Glaskeramik und Keramik für unsere High-Tech-Kleinserien, Einzelteil- und Prototypenfertigung.
Deine Aufgaben
Als Prozessingenieur:infür Beschichtungstechnologie bist du der Schlüssel für stabile, effiziente und zukunftsfähige Fertigungsprozesse. Konkret übernimmst du folgende Aufgaben:
36. Prozessverantwortung: Eigenständige Betreuung eines Beschichtungs‑/Bonding‑Prozesses; Übernahme weiterer Prozesse mit Support von Senior/LM.
37. Überwachung & Optimierung: Einsatz von Lean/Six Sigma (z. B. SPC); kontinuierliche Verbesserung von Yield, Kosten und Durchlaufzeit.
38. Verbesserungen umsetzen: Selbständige einfache Optimierungen sowie Unterstützung komplexer Changes inkl. TGP‑konformer Initiativen.
39. Verfügbarkeit & Maintenance: Sicherstellung der Prozessverfügbarkeit; Definition von Maintenance‑Plänen (ohne operative Wartung).
40. Dokumentation & Training: Erstellung/Pflege von AAWs, REZ, Arbeitsanweisungen; Schulung der Produktion als zertifiziertein.
41. NPI & Technologien: Anpassung bestehender Prozesse, Übernahme neuer Bonding‑Technologien, Beiträge zu PCCSIMs und Ramp‑ups.
42. Risiken, Entscheidungen & Zusammenarbeit: Mitwirkung an FMEAs, ECRs; Gerätebeschaffung im Rahmen; enge, cross‑funktionale Zusammenarbeit mit Prod., Eng., D&E, R&T.
Deine Qualifikationen
43. Du hast ein abgeschlossenes naturwissenschaftliches oder technisches Studium.
44. Du verfügst über einschlägige Berufserfahrung im Produktions‑ und technischen Umfeld, die dich befähigt, Prozesse eigenständig zu betreuen und Ramp‑Up‑Projekte zu unterstützen.
45. Du hast Erfahrung im Umgang mit feinmechanischen Systemen (Feinmechanik).
46. Du bringst Erfahrung in der Vakuumtechnik und deren Anwendung im industriellen Umfeld mit.
47. Du hast Erfahrung im Umgang mit Gassicherheitstechnik, einschließlich sicherem Handling und prozessrelevanter Sicherheitskonzepte.
48. Du hast Erfahrung in der Analyse großer, heterogener Datenmengen sowie in der statistischen Aufbereitung und Auswertung von Daten.
49. Du hast Methoden wie Six Sigma, SPC, PDCA und KVP bereits in der Praxis angewendet.
50. Du bringst Erfahrung in der Erstellung von Fertigungsdokumenten und Entscheidungsvorlagen mit.
51. Du hast praktische Erfahrung in der Anlagenbeschaffung oder in Optimierungsprojekten sowie in der Erstellung von Lastenheften.
52. Du bist sicher im Umgang mit Eskalationsmanagement und Risikoanalysen (z. B. FMEA).
