In this highly visible and collaborative leadership role, you will serve as the global Operations Finance partner to our Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD).
You will work at the intersection of manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and strategy, helping translate data into insight, insight into action, and action into measurable business performance.
With a strong data-driven and business-partner mindset, you will provide financial leadership, mentorship, and challenge across the Operations organisation—driving productivity, margin improvement, and disciplined investment decisions. You will also lead and develop a globally distributed Operations Finance team, shaping both performance and culture.
This role offers the opportunity to influence decisions at scale, work closely with senior leaders across Operations, Finance, and the Business Units, and help steer one of Thermo Fisher’s most critical and innovative divisions.
This role offers flexibility to be based at either our Brno, Czech Republic or Bremen, Germany location, operating within a hybrid working model.
What You Will Do
Strategic Business Partnership
1. Act as a trusted finance partnerto CMD Operations and Manufacturing leadership, supporting productivity, gross margin improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
2. Provide clear, actionable insights on performance, forecasts, and business trends to enable better decision-making.
Leadership & Team Development
3. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global Operations Finance team, fostering strong engagement, collaboration, and a results-driven culture.
4. Champion continuous improvement, change, and modern finance ways of working.
Planning, Forecasting & Performance Management
5. Lead forecasting, reporting, and annual/strategic planning processes for Operations.
6. Partner with Operations and Finance to develop and review business plans and investment cases.
7. Analyze performance against key metrics, highlighting risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
Governance, Controls & Decision Enablement
8. Ensure financial governance, compliance, and controllership are embedded into business decisions, aligned with company policy, US GAAP, and SOX requirements.
9. Accelerate insight and decision-making through advanced analytics and visualization tools ( Power BI).
What You Bring
Education
10. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
11. MBA preferred, but not required
Experience
12. 10+ years of progressive experience infinance business partnership, including manufacturing or supply chain finance
13. Demonstrated success delivering impact beyond the finance function
14. Proven experience leading teams in aglobal, matrixed environment

15. Strong executive presence with the ability to partner confidently with senior stakeholders
16. Highly analytical, strategic thinker with a bias for action
17. Track record of influencing outcomes infast-paced, cross-functional environments
18. Strong systems and digital capability (SAP, Hyperion, Power BI or similar)
19. Willingness to travel ~10% domestically and internationally
