This Position reports to:
Global CHO Lead, Electrification
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will ensure ABB operates to the highest standards and maintains compliance with all fiduciary requirements across Germany. You will coordinate local functions and business organizations to guarantee consistency, expertise, and regulatory focus while representing ABB at the local governance level and leading the finance front office.
While maintaining regulatory compliance, the role creates an agile business platform enabling divisions to evolve with flexibility. Key priorities include driving process simplification, reducing complexity, and supporting the business to secure a highly motivated and skilled workforce for sustainable growth.
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Ensuring collaboration between businesses in line with the "ABB Way"
* Driving process simplification and reducing complexity across governance and fiduciary functions
* Establishing and maintaining local governance in compliance with regulations while eliminating internal complexity
* Acting as authorized signatory for statutory, tax, treasury, and HSE requirements
* Representing ABB locally (e.g., in associations and government bodies) and managing key partnerships and external (non-customer) stakeholders, when of significant importance across several local businesses
* Overseeing Real Estate across the country
* Overseeing compliance with all applicable local fiduciary finance requirements as well as US GAAP, local reporting, internal controls, legal and tax requirements, with support provided by respective functions
* Leading or supporting local aspects of global projects, including M&A, reorganizations, and carve-outs
* Maintaining strong relationships with external auditors and ensuring timely remediation of findings
* Acting as local leadership for corporate functions such as Communications, Government Relations, HR, Legal, Tax, and Treasury
Qualifications for the role
* Proven leadership skills with a strong focus on collaboration and accountability
* 10-15 years of professional experience, including 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a similar role within a multicultural environment
* Broad functional knowledge across finance and governance, complemented by strong management capabilities
* Demonstrated ability to streamline operations and eliminate complexity
* Experience working with internal and external (non-customer) stakeholders such as tax authorities, government institutions, associations, auditors, etc.
* Deep understanding of German regulations, culture, and business environment
* Excellent communication skills in German and English, with the ability to represent ABB externally to authorities and key constituencies
