Position Summary
This role acts as a key technical link between engineering, product management, sales, and customers, ensuring successful application and integration of technologies in real-world use cases. The Application Engineer provides advanced technical support, translates complex requirements into practical solutions, and aligns cross-functional teams through strong technical expertise and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Application Support
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers, providing application support, troubleshooting, and technical solutions across UI, lighting, and power electronics products.
- Support product launches, customer onboarding, and design-in activities while translating customer requirements into effective product solutions.
- Cross-Domain Engineering Support
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to optimize system performance, ensure subsystem compatibility, and support the development and review of application schematics, layouts, and system architectures.
- Product Development & Feedback Loop
- Provide field insights to R&D to support product improvements and innovation, participate in design reviews and validation testing, and develop reference designs, application notes, and technical documentation.
- Testing & Validation
- Perform system-level validation of integrated solutions across UI, lighting, and power subsystems, supporting EMC, thermal, electrical, and reliability testing in customer applications, and troubleshooting hardware, firmware, and system-level performance issues.
- Sales and Manufacturing Support
- Partner with sales teams to support technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals, identify new application opportunities across target industries, provide competitive technical analysis, and support product launch activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in Application, Design, or Systems Engineering.
- Strong knowledge in at least two of the following: UI systems (HMI, displays, sensors), lighting technologies (LED systems, drivers, controls), or power electronics (DC/DC, AC/DC, power management).
- Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and thermal interfaces.
- Experience reading schematics and technical documentation.
- Hands-on troubleshooting with lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power analyzers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in multi-domain or system-level integration (automotive, industrial, or consumer electronics).
- Familiarity with embedded systems, controls, or firmware integration.
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., UL, IEC, automotive standards).
- Understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations.
