Join Autodesk Tandem and help lead the charge in disrupting building operations with digital twins and AI!Nearly 50% of operational carbon emissions come from buildings, and 30% of energy is wasted due to poor design and operational decisions. At Autodesk, we’re on a mission to empower building operators to optimize their environments using data. Our team is developing digital twin technology that connects, aggregates, and analyzes building data from various sources, enabling our product end users—building operators—to improve both sustainability and operational efficiency.
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team in building a modern SaaS application for digital twins. In this role, you’ll shape the direction of our product, collaborating closely with product managers and designers to create innovative applications that enhance building performance. In our fast-paced, collaborative, product-centric environment, you’ll have the opportunity to develop solutions from the ground up, with a direct impact on the success of a high-growth, mission-driven product. You will report to the Director of Engineering in this hybridposition.
Responsibilities
1. Lead a growing, distributed development team of 4 engineersacross Germany, fostering a collaborative and high-performing remote culture
2. Coach and grow individual team members, supporting their professional development and guiding the team’s organic expansion as product demands evolve
3. Partnerclosely with product managers, UX designers, and software architects to translate user needs into impactful, customer-facing features
4. Guide technical strategy to ensure that your team builds and maintains scalable, secure, and high-throughput cloud applications
Minimum Qualifications
5. BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field
6. 4+ years of experience managing product engineering teams
7. 10+ years of hands-on software development experience in cloud services and applications
8. Proficiency in cloud platforms(e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure)
9. Experience with Agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban
10. Passion for coaching and mentoring engineers, with a leadership style that emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
11. Strong written and oral communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
12. REST API development experience
13. Experiencecoding in Go, C++
14. Experience with computer graphics or computational geometry
15. Experience with the building, deployment, and orchestration of containerized workloads using Docker
16. Solid understanding of cloud software security and compliance best practices
