Senior Manager Scientific Engagement London, United Kingdom; Mainz, Germany | full time | Job ID:9416 The Senior Manager Scientific Engagement is a key role to support initiatives in Global Medical Affairs across the oncology and infectious diseases portfolios, including global medical affairs advisory boards, external funding (grants and sponsorships) & external expert engagement initiatives. Reporting to Scientific Engagement Lead, this role is important for ensuring all the initiatives are delivered with high quality. The Senior Manager will work closely with line manager, other Medical Excellence team members and cross-functional teams, including Global Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, and Global Clinical Development, to execute initiatives that elevate the visibility of the company’s scientific leadership and accelerate the delivery of innovative therapies. Advisory Board Management: Working together with Global Medical Affairs team and Global Clinical Development team to execute the global medical advisory boards across portfolios, supporting processes so that advisors can provide valuable insights to support clinical development and evidence generation. External Funding Management (Grants & Sponsorships): Implement the global grants and sponsorships process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory requirements. External Expert Engagement: Arrange engagement activities with key external experts, medical societies, and academic institutions to support evidence generation, advisory input, insights gathering, and collaborative research initiatives. Ensure that expert interactions align with corporate priorities and are conducted in a compliant manner. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Global Medical Affairs, Global Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Corporate Communications, to ensure alignment across all external engagement activities and to drive efficient communication and planning. Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all activities related to external funding and expert engagement comply with global regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry guidelines. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related field required. Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD) strongly preferred. Experience: ≥ 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, with significant experience in managing external funding, expert engagement or advisory boards. External Expert Engagement: Experience engaging with external experts, including key opinion leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and academic institutions. Preferred Requirements Global experience working in oncology. Experience in planning and executing global advisory boards. Proven track record of successful grant and sponsorship program management. Knowledge of global compliance standards related to external funding and expert engagement.
