Digital Modeler – Exterior (Alias / Class-A)
🚀 About the Role
We are looking for experienced Senior Digital Modelers to join the design team at Opel Automobile GmbH.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of high-quality 3D CAD models and Class-A surfaces, contributing to the realization of advanced automotive design concepts into production-ready data.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔧 3D Modeling & Surface Development
* Independently develop complex 3D CAD models and assemblies (exterior and/or interior components)
* Translate 2D sketches and design inputs into precise 3D geometry, considering all engineering criteria
* Take full ownership of 3D form development and data creation
* Deliver Class-A surfaces and high-quality digital models with strong aesthetic and mathematical accuracy
* Ensure excellence in:
* Shape, surface, volume, and key lines
* Highlights and surface continuity (G2/G3)
* Precision and data quality
⚙️ Technical Integration & Collaboration
* Gather and integrate design and packaging requirements into modeling solutions
* Proactively resolve design vs engineering conflicts
* Collaborate closely with: Design Studio, Studio Engineering, DQ&V teams
* Align on: Surface quality, Detail development, Section and component design
🧱 Process & Data Management
* Apply math modeling and surfacing standards across own and team data
* Manage and release data via network/cloud systems and databases
* Ensure timely delivery and data accuracy across all project phases
🏎️ Model Development & Validation
* Support clay modeling, milling, and evaluation processes
* Compare physical models with digital data and refine accordingly
* Contribute to surface refinement, detailing, and final validation
📊 Project Contribution & Representation
* Prepare and present 3D data in design and management reviews
* Participate in:
* Class-A Surfacing meetings
* CSTP reviews
* Provide expert input on: Development status, Technical feasibility, Design quality
* Collaborate with Stellantis surfacing teams and Class-A leads
🧠 Requirements
* Relevant background in:
* Model making, automotive design, or equivalent
* Proven experience as a Digital Modeler in automotive design (exterior and/or interior)
* Strong expertise in Alias (mandatory)
* Deep understanding of: Class-A surfacing, Surface quality and continuity, Automotive design processes
* Strong sense of form, aesthetics, and precision
* High level of accuracy, flexibility, and commitment
* Openness to new techniques and working methods
* Fluent English

Working hours - 35h/week
Salary - €75,000 – €78,000 gross/yearly
Only candidates with proven automotive OEM or supplier experience will be considered.
