Your Job:
1. Development, preparation, and characterization of state-of-the-art and novel catalysts for LOHC (de)hydrogenation
2. Testing of novel LOHC methods
3. Operando investigation of catalyst (surface) structures using high energy X-ray methods (scattering, spectroscopy, imaging)
4. Design, optimization, and testing/benchmarking of reactors for operando studies
5. Unravelling of relationships between catalyst structure and morphology with its performance (reactivity, selectivity, efficiency) and degradation under realistic deployment conditions
6. Coordination and execution of synchrotron beam times
7. Collaboration with other groups, in particular at INW and at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) (Jakub Drnec) and the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU) (Olaf Magnussen)
8. Extended visits to synchrotron facilities (ESRF, beamline, ID31)
9. Participation in international conferences (including presenting your research results)
10. Preparation of scientific publications and project reports
11. Supervision of PhD students and other students
12. Support in establishing the institute
Your Profile:
13. Master`s degree with PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline
14. Extensive knowledge of X-ray methods
15. Knowledge of synchrotron science
16. Knowledge of catalysis
17. Experience in energy storage
18. Experience with programming languages (ideally Python)
19. Fluent in written and spoken English
20. Very independent and self-motivated way of working but also excellent teamwork skillsy
21. High motivation to take on responsibility and develop own research ideas
22. Willingness for regular business trips
