About the role
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Hardware / Mechanical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Intelligent Solutions and Applications Department.
As part of this team, you will contribute to both supporting existing robotic platforms and developing next-generation prototypes for high-degree-of-freedom (high-DOF) robotic systems.
In this role, you will ensure reliable operation of our robotic systems, while also designing and implementing robust mechanisms that meet the demands of cutting-edge applications. Success in this position requires a combination of technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, uncertain environment.
Your Responsibilities
* Design and develop complex robotic mechanisms, ensuring high precision, reliability, and manufacturability (from drawing to finished part)
* Create detailed CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly documentation for production
* Prototype mechanical parts using 3D printing and workshop tools
* Support assembly and integration of mechatronic systems, including basic electrical wiring and component installation
* Conduct testing and commissioning of robotic systems and ensure smooth operation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless system integration
* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during development and production phases
* Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in robotics and mechanical design
* Work autonomously on open-ended, evolving tasks
Essential Skills
* Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, knowledge of PDM systems is a plus)
* Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, prototyping, and electrical wiring
* Practical workshop skills: 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, drill press
* Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles (kinematics, dynamics, tolerances, manufacturability)
* Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams
* Self-motivated, reliable, and solution-oriented mindset
* Fluent in English; German or Chinese skills are a plus
* Flexibility to travel occasionally for customer installations and support
Beneficial Skills
* Experience in robotics, automation, or system integration
* Knowledge of electronics, sensors, and camera systems (e.g., ZED, Intel RealSense)
* Familiarity with technical standards and compliance in robotics/mechatronics
Your Profile
* Degree or technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
* Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
* Self-driven with a passion for cutting-edge robotics technology
* Detail-oriented with a focus on robust system design
* Adaptable to a dynamic, fast-paced development cycle
What we offer
* A dynamic high-tech company combined with financial soundness and world-class investors.
* Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment.
* Lots of development opportunities in the context of our continued growth.
* Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth.
* Corporate Benefits Program that covers health, mobility, and learning with 100€ net per month.
* Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment.
