How you will make an impact
You actively shape the digitalization of mobility by developing modern software solutions that make road traffic more efficient, safer, and more sustainable. In this role, you work on central systems with direct real-world impact on traffic infrastructures.
Your responsibilities
1. Develop and enhance data-driven full‑stack software solutions for urban and interurban traffic and traffic management systems
2. Design, implement, and operate scalable microservice architectures for safety-critical traffic applications
3. Implement, integrate, and maintain OCIT interfaces (C and O) and additional traffic-related standards within existing system landscapes
4. Integrate external systems and subsystems using standardized APIs and asynchronous communication mechanisms
5. Analyze business and technical requirements in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and project partners
6. Contribute to DevOps practices including automated deployments, monitoring, incident and problem management
7. Take responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and further development of existing solutions as part of sustainable life‑cycle management
8. Drive continuous improvement of development, operational, and quality processes within agile teams
Qualifications & Experience
9. A degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a comparable qualification
10. Several years of experience with the implementation and operation of OCIT interfaces (C and/or O) or experience with Datex II
11. Excellent Java skills are mandatory
12. Experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript is beneficial
13. Hands-on experience with microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes is required
14. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data processing, and real-time data pipelines
15. Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink or similar)
16. Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Nexus); Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is an advantage
17. Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP optional)
18. Experience in quality assurance, automated testing, code reviews, and security best practices
19. Good command of English; German skills are beneficial for customer interaction
