Scientist (Communicable Diseases)
We are seeking a skilled Epidemiologist to join our team of experts in understanding and controlling the spread of communicable diseases.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review surveillance data to identify trends, outbreaks, or clusters, and communicate emerging threats in a timely manner.
* Conduct complex statistical and epidemiological analyses for data drawn from various surveillance sources.
* Develop and draft epidemiological outputs, including reports, alerts, and scientific briefings.
* Establish and maintain communicable diseases surveillance systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Survey and develop horizon scanning tools to identify newly emerging pathogens and support risk assessment.
* Participate in scientific working groups to stay up-to-date on current trends and data in infectious disease epidemiology.
* Contribute to ongoing European projects.
* Prepare and deliver educational materials and lectures to professional and public groups.
Requirements:
* Masters degree or PhD in Epidemiology.
* Scientist (Masters or PhD) in Microbiology with knowledge in Epidemiology or statisticians are also encouraged to apply.
Skillset:
* Demonstrate knowledge of epidemiologic research methods and techniques relevant to infectious disease surveillance.
* Be able to adapt to situations to meet emergency or changing program requirements.
* Prioritize tasks efficiently and work independently with strong quality control and attention to detail.
* Possess skills for using statistical analysis software, such as Stata, SAS, or R, as well as Microsoft Programs including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Be fluent in English.
* Being proficient in French/German and Luxembourgish is considered a valuable asset.
