Legal Counsel (f/m/d)
At Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, we innovate to improve patient health worldwide. We need an experienced Legal Counsel to provide advice on a broad range of legal and compliance matters in Germany and neighboring countries, supporting the Dx Platform which includes Beckman Coulter, Cepheid, Radiometer and Leica Biosystems, as well as Beckman Coulter Life Sciences.
The position reports to the Legal Director, Europe and is part of the Danaher Diagnostics EU Legal Team. It is a fully remote role, with a requirement to travel to the Krefeld office once a month.
Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice on contractual law, medical device regulation, public tenders, privacy and cybersecurity matters.
* Draft, review, negotiate and update standard agreements.
* Conduct legal training and education as needed for the business.
* Assist Quality and Regulatory Affairs with regulatory law support.
* Advise on privacy and cyber security matters.
* Work with digital contracts, AI, cloud solutions, ERP systems and other emerging technologies.
* Support new initiatives in sustainability, digital and software contracting, AI and other emerging technologies.
* Support the Compliance Program, including policy and procedure management, lead training, monitoring, and investigations.
* Promote use of the Compliance Hotline, awareness of the Code of Conduct, and understanding of compliance issues and related policies.
* Monitor and report results of compliance/ethics efforts, providing guidance to associates on compliance matters.
Essential Requirements
* Diploma in Law, German-qualified (or comprehensive training in German law if not German-qualified).
* Fluency in German (native speaker level) and English.
* Six or more years of practice, preferably from an international law firm, in‑house experience, or a combination, within the Life Sciences, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry.
* Knowledge of compliance programs, data protection laws, health‑related regulations and clinical trials.
* Project‑management skills, including managing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects and transparent reporting of progress.
* Ability to travel internationally as needed.
Preferred / Plus Experience
* Experience supporting multinational companies with geographically dispersed teams.
* Experience in a multicultural environment and familiarity with Danaher’s D&I principles.
* Experience interacting with remote internal customers and management.
* Experience in a fast‑paced business environment.
