A DevOps Engineer in the Substation Automation Platform focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting Linux‑based systems across physical and virtual environments while designing and operating CI/CD pipelines that ensure smooth, automated deployments. It also involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions aligned with grid‑automation and cybersecurity standards, contributing to customer training, documentation, and continuous improvement of new and existing systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in both physical and virtualized environments
2. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and configuration management
3. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions for scalable and reliable SAS platforms
4. Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions for virtual environments
5. Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure SAS platforms
7. Participate in customer training, documentation, and support activities
8. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and grid automation standards
9. Contribute to the design and integration of new systems for SAS and power automation projects
10. Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in DevOps, automation, and grid solutions
What You Bring
11. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
12. Long term experience in production IT infrastructure management, preferably in energy, utilities, or industrial automation
13. Strong expertise in GNU/Linux system administration (Ubuntu/Debian, CentOS/RHEL) and troubleshooting
14. Proficient in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python)
15. Experience with virtualization (KVM, QEMU, VMware ESXi), containers (Docker, Podman), and orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
16. Familiarity with network administration (IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewall, VPN, VLAN)
17. Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
18. Knowledge of monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus) and logging (ElasticSearch, Kibana) tools
19. Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to train and guide team members
20. Fluent in English (German is a plus)
21. Willingness to learn new technologies and domains; motivation to become a specialist in automation technologies
