Head of Middle-Office Accounting Germany & Austria We are looking for a talented and experienced Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our accounting processes, while ensuring regulatory compliance and the accuracy of financial reports. This role involves overseeing the Middle Office Accounting department within the designated geographical area. It requires organizing and guiding the team, leading and developing staff, ensuring the availability of effective IT tools, and establishing robust internal controls and procedures. Additionally, it includes monitoring activity performance and promoting clear communication to guarantee excellence in Accounting Calculations, Closing Review, Accounting and Regulatory Reporting, as well as driving automation and process improvements for the assigned region. What you do In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks: Accounting Calculations Perform the calculations related to Bad Debts. Perform calculations related to provisions and accrued expenses Calculate the values of fixed assets Closing Review Ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of entries in accounting systems, and provide feedback on recurring issues identified. Perform consistency checks on suspense accounts, premiums/service income/claims/commissions, payroll, investments, foreign currency, and taxes. Ensure the quality of the closing and compliance with standard accounting schemes and accounting policy. Perform balance sheet reconciliation reviews. Monitor and report on the progress of the closing. Oversee and/or perform the loading of financial data into the consolidation tool. Conduct a post-mortem analysis of the closing review process to identify, track, and resolve issues, as well as design and implement process improvements. Regulatory Reporting Prepare and communicate statutory reports. Prepare and submit regulatory reports. Produce and share specific reports. Automation and Improvement of Accounting Processes Support transformation projects related to accounting processes and regulatory reporting as a subject matter expert, including, but not limited to, IT system deployment, process harmonization, and the tendering and integration of new activities.
