As a Fullstack Engineer at Heartbeat Medical, you will play a key role in shaping our digital platform and services for patients and medical professionals. You'll be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional product and engineering team, working closely with the team leads of Engineering and Product, our product designer, medical content specialists and fellow engineers.
You’ll contribute across the full depth of our system heartbeat OS – backend, frontend, and infrastructure. You will be a key contributor to our mission of making healthcare more patient-centric and digitally supported with an impact on hundreds of patients per week. Type: Full-time or part-time (min. 30 hours/week)
Support an increasing use AI tools within the engineering workflow
Participate in work planning, retrospectives, etc. We use a mixture of kanban and scrum
Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, both backend (Node.js) and frontend (React, Vue, or similar)
Strong understanding of core web fundamentals and framework-less development
Experience working with SQL and relational databases (we use Postgres)
Ability to write testable, robust software with unit and integration tests
Excellent communication skills in English; openness to learning basic German (we offer support for German classes)
Proactive, hands-on, and team-oriented mindset
Experience in regulated environments or with digital health products
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or DevOps tooling
Contributions to open-source or public projects developed in the past or at the moment
