Gear Engineer (Plastic Gears – Application Development) KM46873
A Japanese plastic parts manufacturer is recruiting a Gear Engineer to join the European application development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimising plastic gears and related components for European customers, working closely with manufacturing sites in Asia. This is a hands-on technical role that combines engineering design, problem-solving, and collaboration across global teams.

 * TYPE: Permanent, full-time
 * WORKING HOURS: 40 hours
 * START: ASAP
 * BENEFIT: 28-30 days (increasing by 1 day each year, max. 30 days)
Responsibilities
 * Develop and optimise applications for plastic gears and related components
 * Provide technical proposals and design specifications based on customer requirements
 * Collaborate with manufacturing sites in Asia to support prototyping and preparation for mass production
 * Analyse and resolve technical challenges in gear applications
 * Apply experience with metal gears or gear-assembled components as required
 * Support European customers with technical guidance and application advice
Qualifications
 * Experience in design and development of plastic gears or related components
 * Knowledge of mechanical design and material properties
 * Strong problem-solving skills and technical analysis capabilities
 * Experience in a team-based development environment
 * Experience with metal gears or gear-assembled components is advantageous
 * Business-level proficiency in English and German
