Manager (m/f/d) Regulatory Affairs / GDP Quality Assurance

For our German commercial affiliate we are looking for an experienced Manager (m/f/d) Regulatory Affairs / GDP Quality Assurance. The role is office based in Martinsried, Munich. and reporting to the Director, Regulatory Affairs / Quality Assurance.

General Responsibilities

1. Maintenance and improvement of the existing German Quality Management System (QMS) including implementation of relevant international Procedural Documents (PDs) within Gilead Sciences Germany. Focus is on Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and wholesale activities.
2. Works under supervision of and supports the GDP Responsible Person (RP) according to the German Drug Act § 52a “Großhandelsbeauftragter”.
3. Manages QA projects and participates in global QA workstreams.
4. Manages interactions, negotiations, and communication with local Supervisory and Health Authorities and acts as point of contact for the local Supervisory and Health Authorities for specific quality topics.
5. Supports compliance with local law and regulation and consistency with global PDs for QA matters such as acting as a subject matter expert or audit / inspection lead within the affiliate, supporting essential licenses, contracts and agreement are in place and falsified/counterfeit products, stock outs and recalls are managed optimally.
6. Provide QA expertise to relevant parties as required.
7. Supports on regulatory maintenance activities for relevant medicinal products and other regulatory tasks as needed.

Detailed description:

8. Drives to the continuous improvement of the QMS.

9. May act as deputy GDP RP and QA RP.

10. Supports local Gilead representative as required by local law e.g. GDP RP, RP QA, etc.

11. Focus on the management of quality of records.

12. Manages the implementation and maintenance of initial & continuous training programs.

13. Manages sample requests from local Supervisory Authority.

14. Manages suppliers & customers qualification.

15. Manages Deviations and related corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

16. Contributes to the approval of any subcontracted activities that have impact on GDP.

17. Manages and performs self-inspections, audits as well as authority inspections and manages CAPAs.

18. Prepares for and conducts vendor audits.

19. Keeps appropriate records of any delegated duties.

20. Supports decision making on final disposition of returned, rejected, recalled or falsified products Supports approval of returns to saleable stock.

21. Support or management of quality defects, customer complaints, falsified or counterfeit products, batch recalls and stock out as required Supports that any additional requirements imposed on certain products by national law are adhered to.

22. Contributes to the maintenance of the GDP license and manages the maintenance of Quality Agreements.

23. May take a leadership role in conducting risk assessments on specific local regulatory issues.

24. Helps prepare the Company for major changes in regulatory legislation.

Regulatory Affairs tasks

25. Manages or prepares regulatory submissions to local Health Authorities, including variations, safety reports, risk minimization measures, Dear Healthcare Provider Communications, compassionate use as well as clinical trial applications and amendments as applicable, which may require interaction with departments outside of RA.
26. Ensure compliant labeling for Gilead medicinal products and manage timely updates.
27. Provide operational support to local Regulatory Team with creation, review and release of German Compendia and abbreviated Product information (Pflichttext).

Professional experience & key skills – minimum requirements

28. Education requirement- minimum university degree in scientific field (e.g. Pharmacy, Chemistry etc).

29. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in GDP and wholesale operations is essential. Prior experience serving as a deputy GDP RP is highly desirable.

30. Very good level of knowledge and proven experience in understanding and implementation of country/national and regional Supervisory and Health Authorities (people, system, processes and requirements), medicinal products law (AMG, AMWHV, AM-HandelsV etc), European GDP and GMP guidelines.
