Business Intelligence Engineer (m/f/d)

Global Role | Microsoft Fabric | Power BI | Data Leadership

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer (m/f/d) to shape and scale our global analytics capabilities while staying hands-on in building modern data solutions. This role blends technical excellence with analytics leadership, ensuring our data products are consistent, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

You will play a key role in defining best practices, building enterprise-grade semantic models, and driving a global analytics community—while actively contributing to development.

The Role & Your Tasks

Leadership

1. Lead and grow our global Power BI community
2. Coach, mentor, and upskill distributed analytics teams using structured enablement approaches
3. Act as a global point of contact for analytics best practices and governance

Technical & Specialist Responsibilities

4. Drive the evolution of analytics and reporting capabilities across the organization
5. Define and implement best practices for data modeling, analytics development, and reporting standards
6. Ensure KPI consistency and metric accuracy across business domains
7. Design and build scalable semantic models and enterprise datasets
8. Develop impactful Power BI dashboards and analytical solutions
9. Build and maintain data transformations and analytics datasets within our platform
10. Contribute hands-on within a dedicated business domain
11. Collaborate with the Microsoft Fabric platform team to align with architecture standards
12. Guide onboarding of new analytics initiatives and data sources
13. Act as an escalation point for complex analytics challenges
14. Drive documentation, governance, and sustainable development practices

Collaboration

15. Partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data solutions
16. Work cross-functionally with global teams across regions

Your Profile

17. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
18. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Dataflows, Notebooks)
19. Strong expertise in Power BI (semantic models, DAX, enterprise dashboards)
20. Experience in modern data platforms (Fabric, Azure, or similar)
21. Advanced Python skills for data pipelines, transformations, and automation
22. Strong SQL and ETL/ELT experience
23. Proven track record of building enterprise-level semantic data models
24. Experience in data governance, metadata standards, and data quality frameworks
25. Exposure to AI-enabled analytics (e.g., anomaly detection, AI insights, generative AI in BI)

26. Ability to translate business needs into scalable analytics solutions
27. Structured approach to data modeling and reusable datasets
28. Strong understanding of data quality, KPI harmonization, and governance
29. Experience organizing analytics development processes (versioning, documentation, maintainability)
30. Ability to coordinate initiatives across multiple domains and regions

37. This is a global role requiring collaboration across time zones
38. Flexible working hours are expected, including regular overlap with US business hours
