Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese multinational and worldwide the biggest producer and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.
DENV is Daikin’s sales, development, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa comprising headquarter offices in Brussels and Oostende, 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and offices and a whole network of independent distributors and dealers across the EMEA region.
Daikin Europe Business Support (DEBS) is a branch of DENV located in Warsaw. As a competency center we aim at being one of the driving forces behind the processes transformation: optimization, standardization and automation in the areas of supply, service, master data, controlling, financial reporting and HR.

As a Customs Officer, you are responsible to execute, support and monitor a variety of customs activities that are related to the Daikin Europe distribution of air conditioning, heating and accessories via various warehouses located in the EMEA region.


The main tasks are:

1. Assure compliance of all Daikin EMEA customs formalities and procedures related to export, import, transit and (bonded) warehousing in respect to the Union Customs Code (UCC) and the F Gas Regulation
2. Follow up and management of Belgian in house customs processing and external customs agents in other European member states in view of our AEO Full certificate
3. Ensure and implement best practices to support current and future Daikin European supply strategies for production parts, spare parts and finished unit flows, keeping in mind all relevant requirements
4. Become a SAP (both S4/HANA & GTS) key user, including testing related to changes and company projects
5. Execute, coordinate and follow up on the periodical reporting related to customs, VAT and goods movements
6. Team Process management: governance of daily operations & ensure back up structure in view of business continuity

Our requirements

Experience, education, technical, interpersonal skills

7. Preferably you have relevant experience with Incoterms, customs formalities, VAT and logistical processes.
8. You have affinity to work in an international trade and customs environment, but keeping a practical focus.
9. Confidence in communicating with different parties at all levels is essential (authorities, external providers, international colleagues, etc…) and you work well in team.
10. You possess good (business) analytical skills.
11. You are able to detect and report problems quickly.
12. Good computer skills e.g. Excel (SAP ERP & GTS knowledge is a plus).
13. A good knowledge of English is essential (oral & written), other European languages are an asset.
