About the Role
The Wind Resource Assessment (WRA) Engineer supports the delivery of wind resource and energy yield assessments across European projects, focusing on data analysis, modelling, and technical support.
Responsibilities
Wind Resource Assessment & Analysis
* Support wind resource and energy yield assessments
* Perform MCP and long-term corrections
* Assist with wake modelling and loss calculations
* Support layout optimisation and turbine studies
* Contribute to P50 / P75 / P90 calculations
Data Processing & Quality Control
* Process met mast and LiDAR data
* Conduct validation and quality checks
* Prepare data for modelling and reporting
Tools & Modelling
* Use WAsP, WindPRO or similar tools
* Support scripting and workflow development
* Maintain structured datasets
Bid & Project Support
* Support tenders and project development
* Prepare technical inputs and documentation
* Deliver under tight timelines
Collaboration & Development
* Work with Lead WRA, Solutions and Data teams
* Participate in reviews and knowledge sharing
* Develop WRA technical capabilities
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Meteorology or similar
* 1–4 years in WRA or related field
* Exposure to wind data analysis or energy yield assessments
Technical Skills & Competencies
* Understanding of WRA fundamentals and MCP
* Experience or willingness to learn WRA tools
* Basic data analysis skills (Excel, Python, etc.)
* Strong analytical skills
* Attention to detail and data quality
* Structured working approach
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Clear communication
* Self-driven and proactive
* Comfortable working with uncertainty
* Reliable and detail-oriented
Language Requirements
* Fluent English required
* Chinese (Mandarin) advantageous
