Employee Relations Manager / Human Resources - 6908

For a globally operating, science-driven organization in the life sciences sector, we are currently looking for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support senior leaders in a complex, international environment. This is an initial 6 months contract, ideally starting immediately with options for extension.
This role offers a unique opportunity to provide employee relations support across Germany during a period of organisational transformation. You will lead and manage ER cases, support restructuring activity, and ensure compliance with German labour law, social plan obligations, and Works Council requirements.
This is a hands-on operational role with strategic judgement required.
Main responsibilities:
Handle Employee Relations (ER) cases including:
* Misconduct and disciplinary processes
* Investigations
* Probation and termination matters
Support transformation and restructuring activity:
* Consultation processes
* Works Council engagement and documentation
* Alignment with social plan requirements
* Risk assessment and mitigation
* Provide pragmatic advice to leaders and HRBPs on German employment law and ER risk.
* Ensure accurate case documentation in ServiceNow and compliance with internal governance standards
* Partner with Legal where required on high-risk matters
Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant working/residency permit or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
* Proven experience in HR Employee Relations (ER) in Germany
* Good working knowledge of German labour law and Works Council processes .
* Experience supporting restructures and investigations
* Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-paced environment
* Fluent German and English required
* Calm under pressure
* Structured and organised
* Commercially aware but people-centred.
* Able to work independently and participate fully as part of a high-performing team
* Not afraid of difficult conversations
