The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Münster is offering a
W3 professorship in medical informatics
at the Institute for Medical Informatics (IMI, Director: Prof. Dominik Heider) to be filled at the earliest possible date.
We are looking for a candidate with a research focus in the field of medical informatics, such as medical bioinformatics or image processing. The candidate must have an excellent international scientific reputation and have successfully acquired competitive third-party funding. The research focus should fit in with the research priorities of the Institute for Medical Informatics (IMI), strengthen the scientific focus of the IMI and deepen cooperation with existing and planned research networks, the Medical Data Science Center (MDSC) and scientific structures within the faculty.
The IMI, the Faculty of Medicine, and the University offer an innovative and high-performance environment for research and teaching, an excellent infrastructure, efficient service facilities and a direct connection to the University Hospital. The future holder of this position is expected to be particularly committed to teaching students in the human medicine and dentistry programs as well as in the bachelors and masters’ programs (co-)supported by the faculty.
We are looking for a cooperative, interdisciplinary-minded and well-connected individual who can fully represent the area and the corresponding tasks in research and teaching.
Prerequisites for this position are scientific achievements gained within a junior professorship, habilitation or position as research scientist at a University/school of higher education or a nonUniversity institution or in connection with an academic activity in business, industry, administration or other social area, either in Germany or abroad. Further prerequisites are stated in § 36 of legal regulations of the higher education act (Hochschulgesetz).
