Quantity Surveyor / Baukalkulator – Düsseldorf, Germany
As a Quantity Surveyor (QS), you’ll oversee cost planning, procurement strategy, and contract management for construction and infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with engineers, planners, and commercial teams to ensure project budgets are accurately forecasted and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts based on drawings, specifications, and market procurement rates.
Administer contracts (VOB/B, FIDIC), manage provisional sums, variations, extensions of time, and cost claims.
Validate subcontractor and material pricing; negotiate commercial terms and uphold value-for-money principles.
Process interim valuations and monthly cost reports; input data for cost monitoring and forecasting.
Conduct site visits and re-measure works to verify accuracy in line with contract documents.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Planners, Procurement on cost control strategy and risk mitigation.
Produce cost reports/presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of QS experience in Germany, ideally with infrastructure, energy, biopharma, or large-scale commercial builds.
Proficient in cost estimating tools (e.g., CostX, Candy, iTWO) plus advanced Excel usage.
Familiarity with German standards: DIN 276, VOB/B, FIDIC.
Strong German (C1+) and business-level English skills.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
