Job Overview
We are seeking a Legal Specialist to join our team to work in the Supervision of certain investment firms. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the regulatory compliance of these firms and identifying potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough assessments of investment firms' prudential reporting and internal control functions to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Collaborate with internal specialists to evaluate the risks faced by investment firms.
* Conduct legal research and provide expert solutions to complex legal questions related to the regulatory framework governing investment firms.
* Apply the legal powers of the supervisory authority, manage enforcement procedures, and handle procedural aspects related to investment firms.
* Contribute to anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing supervision aspects in collaboration with internal specialists.
* Develop expertise in regulatory matters (MiFID, MICAR, ESG) and respond to enquiries related to the practical application of the MiFID regulatory framework to investment firms.
Your Profile
* You hold a university degree (Bac +4/+5) in law, preferably with a focus on financial law or economic law, or in economics, finance, or management.
* Possession of the certificate of complementary training in Luxembourg law (CCDL) and end of judicial training examination or a PhD in law is considered an advantage.
* First work experience in a reputable local law firm, legal service of a professional in the financial sector, audit, compliance of credit institutions, or other professionals in the financial sector, or in a supervisory authority is an advantage.
* You have good knowledge of the regulatory framework (financial sector law, European directives and regulations, CSSF regulations and circulars) as well as rules of administrative law applicable to enforcement procedures.
* BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF FINANCIAL ANALYSIS OR DATA MINING IS CONSIDERED AN ASSET.
* You possess excellent writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
* Perfect proficiency in written and spoken French and English. Knowledge of German and Luxembourgish is considered an advantage.
* You have good communication skills, ability to integrate a team, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
* You possess good organizational and follow-up skills, rigour, and ability to work independently.
