Team / division overview
This permanent position is an integral part of supporting DWS’s Alternatives platform in the effective execution of AML/KYC controls. The role reports to the Senior Team Manager Client Due Diligence Transactional and contributes to safeguarding the integrity of our investment processes across a diverse set of Alternative and Illiquid strategies:
Your responsibilities:
As our AML/ KYC Manager, you will:
1. Overall leadership and functional responsibility for the local Transactional Due Diligence team.
2. Conduct AML/KYC due diligence on complex transactions across the Alternatives and Illiquid Investment platform (Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Equity, Direct Lending and related investment structures), applying sound judgement in assessing AML risk.
3. Ongoing enhancement of due‑diligence (KYC) workflows, documentation standards and supporting technology solutions, ensuring clarity and consistency for both new and existing transactions.
4. Implementation of regulatory developments and active participation in cross‑functional initiatives focused on operational excellence, compliance and timely issue escalation.
5. Close collaboration with internal stakeholders, business partners and second‑line control functions, ensuring clear, risk‑sensitive and well‑structured communication.
6. Sharing of subject‑matter expertise to build collective team capability, reinforcing a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
We are looking for:
7. Professional experience in AML/KYC or Financial Crime Compliance within the financial services industry; experience in Asset Management or Alternative Investments
8. Deep understanding of investment transaction processes, ideally with exposure to Alternative or Illiquid investment strategies.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly, precisely and appropriately for different audiences; German language proficiency is considered an advantage.
10. Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities in a structured, reliable and deadline‑oriented manner.
11. Collaborative mindset with the ability to build productive, trust‑based working relationships across functions and regions.
